About Pixel Wrangler
We make the Shopify product customizer we needed for our own store. We were paying for one that didn't cut it, so we stopped waiting for someone else's roadmap.
The short version
Pixel Wrangler is a product customizer for Shopify. Your customers design the product on a real-time canvas. When they buy, you get a print-ready file.
We're a small team in Melbourne. We also run Threadheads, an eight-figure Shopify apparel store that runs on this software every day.
Why we built it
Threadheads sells custom apparel at volume, with production facilities in multiple locations worldwide. For years it ran on someone else's customizer.
Setup took days. The Shopify admin filled up with duplicate products nobody asked for. Print files needed cleaning before they could go anywhere near a printer.
Those are not small annoyances when custom orders are the business. So we made our own, ran it on our own storefront first, and kept going until it beat the thing we'd been paying for.
Who builds it
Two people. Ace runs Threadheads — the store this was built for. Matilda is a software engineer and runs Studio Alt, a Melbourne design and development studio that builds for Shopify brands. We made Pixel Wrangler together.
That means every product decision gets argued out against a real storefront taking real orders. When something breaks here, it breaks for us first.
How we build
Narrow on purpose. Pixel Wrangler does product customization and print-ready output. It is not a page builder, a theme, or a design suite, and we are not trying to be Canva.
We build on modern Shopify APIs and keep your admin tidy — no duplicate products, no script injection, nothing left behind in your store if you leave.
Pricing is a flat monthly fee. We don't take a share of your revenue, so a good month stays a good month.
