InkSoft, DecoNetwork and Shopify: how they fit together
InkSoft and DecoNetwork run quotes, production and online stores for print shops. Here is what connects each to Shopify as of 5 October 2026, where a storefront customizer fits, and which of three setups suits your shop.
If you run a print shop on InkSoft or DecoNetwork, or you're weighing one up, the Shopify question comes up sooner or later. Does Shopify replace it, sit beside it, or stay out of the picture?
Everything about InkSoft, DecoNetwork and Printavo below comes from their own pages and the app listings we name. We read them on 5 October 2026; they're listed under Sources.
Where we stand: we make Pixel Wrangler, a product customizer that runs on Shopify stores. We don't make production software, and nothing below is a case for dropping yours.
What InkSoft and DecoNetwork run
Both run a print shop's selling and production in one system. InkSoft calls itself "The E-Commerce Platform for Branded Merchandise."1 Every plan on its pricing page includes art approvals, an online designer, quotes and order management, and production management.2
DecoNetwork describes itself as "print shop management software for online stores, quotes, orders, artwork, supplier products, and production."3 Its storefront prices a job live from "stitch counts, color changes, print sizes, quantity breaks, and other cost settings defined by your shop."4
Both load blanks from supplier catalogs, and both build stores for schools, teams, clubs and businesses. If your week is quotes for clubs and businesses, team stores and a production board, this is the work they were made for.
A shop that needs scheduling, purchasing and quoting needs software like this. A storefront doesn't replace it, and neither does a customizer.
InkSoft and Shopify
InkSoft's parent company has a new name. On 22 September 2026, Taivo "launched as the new parent company" of eight software products for the branded merchandise industry, InkSoft and Printavo among them.5 Taivo "replaces Inktavo as the parent company name."
Beyond its own stores, InkSoft offers its designer for other websites. Its help center says the Designer Embed can go "on any non-InkSoft site."6 There, shoppers can "select products, create custom designs, and complete checkout without leaving your website."
It adds that "the Designer Embed checkout is only for orders placed within the embed." That page doesn't mention Shopify, or Shopify's cart and orders. If you embed it on a Shopify store, check where those orders and payments land before you go live.
InkSoft also publishes an API, "helping developers build integrations and automate workflows."7
As of 5 October 2026, we found no Shopify integration in InkSoft's help center. It has articles on integrations with ShipStation, ShopWorks, Order Desk, QuickBooks Online and Printavo, and our search of it for "Shopify" returned nothing.8
Customers have asked. On InkSoft's ideas board, a "Shopify/Woocommerce Integration" request was posted on 16 March 2020.9 It was closed on 25 May 2021 with the note "Closing due to low demand," and it was still closed on 5 October 2026.
DecoNetwork and Shopify
DecoNetwork has its own Shopify integration, announced in March 2025 and documented in its help center. The announcement puts the split plainly:10
"Shopify continues to handle everything customer-facing – from site design and product listing to payment – and DecoNetwork works behind the scenes as the fulfillment system helping you to produce and ship the orders."
Its help center fills in how. A Shopify order reaches DecoNetwork with its "product and design information," and tracking goes back once the order is completed.11
Each Shopify product "must be mapped to a corresponding blank product in DecoNetwork," variant by variant.12 Stock levels "must be managed separately in each system."11
The setup guide says to "use Shopify product metafields to store the production files (e.g., front/back artwork) that DN will apply during fulfillment."13 It warns that the integration "supports one design per product view (e.g., one front, one back)."
DecoNetwork says the integration is for "existing DN licensees with established Shopify stores who want to maintain their Google ranking."14 Its March 2025 announcement says it needs a Premium or Enterprise account.10
The setup guides attach artwork to a Shopify product before anyone orders it. The announcement's example order is "a pre-decorated graphic t-shirt or promotional product." It also says "custom graphics and text from the Shopify order are matched to the correct product and print location in DecoNetwork."
We read DecoNetwork's Shopify help articles on 5 October 2026. None shows how a design a shopper makes on the product page, different on every order, reaches production. None describes DecoNetwork's designer running on a Shopify store.
A third-party app does describe that. DecoBridge, on the Shopify App Store since 5 August 2026, says "the DecoNetwork designer opens in a full-screen view over your store."15
Its listing says the finished design is "synced back to DecoNetwork for production." We haven't tested it, and the DecoNetwork pages we read don't mention it.
If shoppers will design on your Shopify product pages, ask DecoNetwork, and DecoBridge's developer, how those orders reach production. Test one order end to end before you rely on it.
DecoNetwork argues the other side: "Shopify is a strong ecommerce platform, but it was not designed for the reality of decorated apparel."16 Its post lists five gaps, among them decoration pricing, art approvals and production management. If those fill most of your week, read it.
Where a storefront customizer sits
On an InkSoft or DecoNetwork store, the designer is part of the store. Shopify's product page can collect a little: its theme documentation mentions "monogram or engraving text" and letting "a customer upload a file."17 For a shopper to design on a picture of the garment, and for the order to carry a print file, you add a storefront customizer.
Pixel Wrangler is one. Shoppers design on your product page, inside the print areas, fonts and colors you set, with front, back and sleeve as separate sides. When the order is paid, the print file is on it.
Each side arrives as a transparent PNG at the size and DPI set for the template, print-ready for DTG and DTF. Download it from the Shopify order, or pick it up with the px-artwork-ready tag or an order metafield.
On Growth and Scale, the Artwork Export API pulls files by order number or date range. The pixel sizes and DPI printers ask for are in T-shirt print sizes in pixels for DTF and DTG.
Pixel Wrangler comes from the team behind Threadheads, who print in-house (DTG and DTF). Where the file goes next is your call: we haven't tested a hand-off into InkSoft, DecoNetwork or Printavo.
Printavo
Printavo, InkSoft's sister product under Taivo, calls itself "Print Shop Management Software built for quoting, approvals, payments, and production."18
Its features page lists "Integrations with QuickBooks, Shopify, and more."19 Its help center files its Shopify link, PrintFlo, under "third-party integrations and tools that connect with Printavo."20
PrintFlo's App Store listing says it exports "Shopify orders into Printavo with full production details."21 We haven't tested it, or any connector, with our files.
Three setups, and how to tell which is yours
There are three sensible ways to arrange this. Each is the right answer for some shops.
Production software with its own storefront
InkSoft or DecoNetwork runs the store, the designer, the quotes and the production board. It's good at decoration pricing on the storefront, stores for schools, teams and businesses, supplier catalogs, and one record from quote to shipping.
The effort is one system to learn, set up and pay for. The trade is that your website is built in that platform's site builder and lives there.
You're this shop if most jobs are quoted for organizations and priced by method and quantity, and your store serves accounts you already have.
Shopify in front, production software behind
Shopify runs the store and checkout, production software runs the floor, and a connector moves orders between them. For DecoNetwork that is its own integration; for Printavo, a third-party app. We found none for InkSoft.
It's good at keeping the Shopify store you've built, and its search traffic, while production stays in software your team already knows. Keeping that Google ranking is the reason DecoNetwork itself gives for its integration.
The effort is two systems and two bills. With DecoNetwork, every product is mapped to a blank and may need re-mapping when variants change, and stock is kept in two places. If shoppers will design their own garments on Shopify, test how those orders reach production before you count on it.
You're this shop if you already sell on Shopify, run your own ranges or client stores there, and need production software behind them.
Shopify alone
Shopify runs the store and checkout. A customizer takes the shopper's design and puts the print file on the order, and production runs from your Shopify order list. It's good at one-off and small orders from individual shoppers: designed, paid for and with the file attached before you touch them.
The effort is the lightest software stack, and the production side is yours. Quotes, scheduling and buying blanks happen however you run them today. A team order with a name, number and size per garment stays a quote.
The file is a raster image for DTG and DTF. Screen printing and embroidery still need their own art step, and there's no proof-and-approve step.
You're this shop if most orders are one-offs and small runs for individual shoppers.
Which one are you?
If you're unsure, look at last month's jobs. Count the ones quoted for a club, school or business, and the ones a single shopper could have designed and paid for alone. The bigger pile points to the first setup or the third.
If you already sell on Shopify and want to keep your production software, that's the second.
What Pixel Wrangler doesn't do
We work on the Shopify side only. Pixel Wrangler doesn't push orders into InkSoft, DecoNetwork, Printavo or any other production software, and we haven't tested a hand-off into any of them. The file stays on the Shopify order.
There's no blank-garment catalog. You list the blanks you stock as Shopify products, and one template serves every product with the same print areas.
There's no quoting, scheduling or purchasing. There's no price per print location or decoration method, and no roster where each garment gets its own name, number and size.
The files are raster, print-ready for DTG and DTF. We don't make separations or stitch files.
If Shopify is in your picture
If most of your jobs look like the first setup, keep what you have; nothing here is a reason to move. If they look like the second or third, the test that matters is a real order.
Build a template for your best-selling blank, place a test order and open the file in your RIP. The file specs are in Print-ready files, and Pixel Wrangler for print shops covers how small jobs check out paid on Shopify.
