What each AI tool costs per action, how monthly usage billing works, and how to keep costs predictable.
Wrangler AI is pay-per-use. You're billed monthly via Stripe for exactly what you used — no prepaid packs, no balance to top up, nothing to expire. It bills separately from your Shopify subscription.

Image generation costs the same regardless of quality (low or high). The auto-clean on generated images doesn't add a charge — it's bundled into the per-image price.
Volume discounts on AI generations
Image generation and graphic text share a single monthly volume counter, and the per-image rate drops automatically as your monthly volume crosses each threshold:

Background removal stays a flat $0.005 / image at every volume.
How billing works
Every AI action is metered as it happens. At the end of each month, Stripe charges the card on file for the total — the sum of every background removal, image generation, and graphic text run that month. There's no minimum and no commitment: a month with no AI usage is a month with no AI charge.
You can see usage as it accrues in your Pixel Wrangler account at pixelwrangler.io/portal — generations today, this week, this month, and all time, plus your payment history and recent actions.
Keeping costs predictable
Your cost control is session limits, set per template in the AI tools panel inside the app. Each limit caps how many image generations and background removals a customer gets per design session. A shopper who hits the limit keeps their last result and checks out as normal — they just can't run more generations.
Three generations per session on a $0.06 tool caps your worst-case AI cost at $0.18 per designing customer. Do the maths for your traffic and set limits you're comfortable with.
Cancelling
There's nothing to cancel and nothing to lose — you only ever pay for usage. Turn the AI tools off per template (or disable them across the board) any time and the metering stops. If you cancel your Pixel Wrangler subscription, any AI usage already run that month is billed on the next Stripe cycle.
What happens if a payment fails
If a monthly charge fails — expired card, declined transaction — AI tools quietly disable on the storefront until you settle. Update the card in your account and the tools come back on. Everything else in the customizer keeps working normally in the meantime.
